What are the Opening Hours for Skogafoss?

Skogafoss Waterfall is open 24 hours a day, all year long. Therefore, there are no specific opening hours as such for Skogafoss.

Ideally, you would want to visit when it is light out, in order to snap photos in good light and gawk at the beauty of Skogafoss.

When the sun is out, you will see multiple rainbows in the mist at Skogafoss, so that’s another reason to visit during the day.

You can also visit Skogafoss late in the day in the summer during the months when the phenomenon of the midnight sun occurs. You still have daylight, but the light is mellow, great for photos, and you can stay for a possibly colorful sunset!

In the winter, you may want to visit Skogafoss at night when the skies are dark and the aurora forecast calls for the possibility of the Northern Lights.

The parking lot at Skogafoss is open 24/7, so you can drive up any time of the day or night to view the waterfall! But note that unlike Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss is not floodlit at night.
